Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia Details Health Crisis After Ovarian Cyst Surgery
Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia Shares Health Update After Surgery

Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia has opened up about the next steps she is taking in her health crisis, one month after she underwent emergency surgery to remove ovarian cysts. The 26-year-old media personality, who was called out by Alex Cooper earlier this year, revealed on her Plan Bri Uncut podcast that she does not have health insurance 'for the first time in my life.'

On Wednesday, she took to social media to detail her latest doctor's appointment. 'I just had my first post-op appointment and it went pretty well and I am okay,' she said in a video after announcing, 'This is for my girls with endometriosis or with PCOS.' She explained that she would have to undergo another laparoscopic surgery to determine if she has either condition.

Endometriosis is a 'chronic inflammatory disease in which cells similar to those lining the uterus are present outside of the uterus,' according to JAMA Network. PCOS is a chronic metabolic condition characterized in part by an increased risk of weight gain, per the World Health Organization.

After weighing her options in the clip shared on both Instagram and TikTok, the podcast host declared, 'I am not getting another surgery.' While interviewing Noah Aussems on Sunday's episode of her internet show, she lamented about not having insurance. LaPaglia joked that she has been dodging calls from the hospital regarding her medical bills.

She initially disclosed the health ordeal in a TikTok video shared in May, recalling the unbearable pain that caused her to go to the emergency room. LaPaglia said she experienced pain in the middle of the night after eating Taco Bell and began vomiting. 'I am laying on the bathroom floor, literally convulsing,' she shared at the time. After arriving at the hospital, a doctor said her pain was from eating fast food, but a vaginal ultrasound determined it was indeed a large cyst on her ovaries.

She stressed to her female followers, 'Women's health is so important and overlooked. I complained to my doctors for years about the severity of my periods and cramping and was always told it is nothing.' She continued, 'Turns out I had tens of cysts on my ovaries. Women, please, please advocate for yourself and trust your gut if something does not feel right!'

She later shared an update, listing multiple points regarding her post-surgery recovery. 'Today is worse than yesterday,' she began, adding, 'I got my period, so just imagine getting your period after having surgery to untwist your ovaries.' The Barstool mainstay also noted that she could not sit up on her own. 'The gas from the surgery traveled to my back and shoulders so now everything hurts,' she continued. LaPaglia hopefully said she was 'praying that tomorrow is my day.'

LaPaglia most notably dated country music singer Zach Bryan from July 2023 until their tumultuous breakup in October 2024.
