Brandi Glanville, a former contestant on the US version of The Traitors, has said she fears she may have contracted a sexually transmitted form of ringworm from an ex-boyfriend who worked in the adult film industry.
The 53-year-old, who appeared on season 1 of the reality show, discussed her concerns on her podcast Brandi Unfiltered with author and former adult star Lisa Ann. She said: 'Have you heard about sexually transmitted ringworm? I feel like I have it… in my throat.'
Ringworm is a fungal infection that can affect the skin, nails or hair, but new strains linked to sexual contact have recently emerged. Glanville explained that her former partner would finish in her mouth to avoid pregnancy, adding that she did not correct his assumption that it could still happen.
She said doctors had ruled out more common sexually transmitted infections, prompting her to research the condition herself after a friend told her about it. She added that the parasite could 'burrow deep into your ears and all that' if present in the throat.
Glanville has spent years documenting the search for the cause of swelling on the right side of her face. In 2024, she revealed she had been diagnosed with stress-provoked angioedema. Speaking to TMZ in February, she said she had a parasite that led to her disfigurement, and further tests showed it was caused by a rupture of her breast implants, which she had for almost 20 years. She admitted she should have changed them every ten years and called it a 'hard lesson'.
