I'm A Celeb's Aitch Slams 'Sad' Down Syndrome Abortion Laws Before Jungle Entry
Aitch criticises Down Syndrome abortion laws pre-jungle

Rapper Aitch has made a powerful statement against current UK abortion laws related to Down Syndrome, just days before he is set to enter the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle. The artist, whose real name is Harrison James Armstrong, revealed that a key motivation for joining the iconic reality show is to use its platform to raise awareness about the condition, which his younger sister Gracie has.

A Personal Mission for Awareness

Aitch expressed his distress over the legal framework, highlighting a significant disparity. "I've just learned certain things over the years that make me a bit sad," the musician stated. "In terms of you can be a day before giving birth, and if you find out your child's got Down Syndrome, you can still have the option to terminate it. Whereas in another situation, if your kid doesn't have that, you've only got a certain amount of time before you can abort."

His connection to the cause is deeply personal. Aitch shares a close bond with his 13-year-old sister, Gracie, and has been a vocal advocate for the Down's syndrome community for several years. He even wrote a song, 'My G', dedicated to her, with all proceeds from the track being donated to the Down's Syndrome Association.

From the Music Studio to the Jungle

Before heading into isolation, Aitch shared an excited message with his fans and his mother on Instagram. Dressed in his jungle attire, he posted: "I’ve made songs with most people I grew up listening to, now I’m going on the show I grew up watching. Mam this one’s for you. Bout to go f**k up the jungle the Manchester way. Cinnabit."

The rapper also disclosed that his sister Gracie does not yet know about his television adventure and will likely find out when she sees him on screen. The music video for 'My G' begins with a touching tribute that reads: "This song is dedicated to Gracie Armstrong. You have the biggest heart in the world! Don’t change for no one. Love you kid x."

Celebrity Campmates Begin Their Adventure

Aitch is part of the 2025 line-up for the hit ITV show, which premieres this Sunday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX. He has already been spotted alongside fellow contestants including Kelly Brook, Shona McGarty, Eddie Kadi, and Martin Kemp, taking part in a skydiving challenge. The group was seen laughing and joking, with hosts Ant and Dec looking on from a castle-top vantage point.

A source close to the production noted that the stars were "bonding all very quickly this year" despite having only just met. Other celebrities joining the jungle camp include Alex Scott, Lisa Riley, Ginge, Jack Osbourne, and Ruby Wax.
