Emrhys Cooper in tears after life-changing dental work in Turkey

Former Coronation Street actor Emrhys Cooper has revealed he was moved to tears after undergoing a transformative dental procedure in Turkey. The 40-year-old had been struggling with discoloured and chipped veneers for years, which affected his confidence and work as an actor.

Cooper explained that his dental issues stemmed from an accident involving a bottle and a drunken friend, which led to temporary bonding being applied to his veneers. Over time, the bonding wore away, becoming more visible and causing him to feel self-conscious on camera.

After adopting a sober lifestyle, Cooper decided to address the problem. He researched options and found that treatment in Los Angeles would cost between £31,000 and £78,000, while a clinic in Turkey, Dentakay, quoted him around £5,820. He chose the latter, praising the seamless experience and the natural-looking results he achieved.

“When I got my new teeth, I genuinely felt like I was gonna cry,” Cooper admitted. “For a long time, I didn't believe I deserved to fix my teeth.” He added that the transformation has boosted his confidence and self-worth, helping him feel less self-conscious while filming.

The actor emphasised the importance of dental health beyond aesthetics, noting links to heart disease and dementia. He urged others to do thorough research when seeking dental treatment abroad, but said his personal experience was “incredible from start to finish.”

Cooper now feels a sense of freedom, no longer preoccupied with his appearance. “It was just nice to not be in my head about the way I looked,” he said, describing the change as genuinely empowering.
