Max George, singer from The Wanted, has been readmitted to hospital due to an issue following his major heart surgery. The 37-year-old underwent heart surgery in late 2024 for a heart block and later received a pacemaker, followed by a second procedure for a misplaced wire.
Sharing an update on Instagram Stories, George posted a clip of himself waiting outside an x-ray area, captioned: "Another scan..." He then explained: "So I'm just at the hospital in the building where I had all my heart surgeries done. I can't say it's good to be back, because it's not. I've just had a scan done on my chest because I've had a bit of an issue with one of my lung apparently. Should be fine. It's just a precaution, but yeah. Back in my old second home."
Last November, George was rushed to hospital for an arrhythmia, describing the experience as "scary". He told the Mirror: "I had an arrhythmia - the top half of my heart was doing 50, which it should, and the bottom was 160, it was out of sync. It was scary but I'm alright now. I needed medication and I'm on that now, as it keeps it stable."
He also spoke about adjusting to life with a pacemaker, saying: "Getting used to life that's a little bit different. Stuff like exercise, I have to be careful doing too much because I depend on my pacemaker. I have to not damage it, doing things like football, skiing, stuff that I love doing, which is hard."
George noted that the heart issue came "out of nowhere" while he was at home after a tour in America, calling it "a massive shock".
