Tributes have been paid to Janice Graham, a 58-year-old healthcare support worker and district nurse, who has become the first NHS worker in Scotland to die from Covid-19. She passed away at Inverclyde Royal Hospital on Monday.
Colleagues past and present have remembered Ms Graham for her 'kindness and compassion'. Louise Long, chief officer of Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership, described her as a 'valued team member' whose 'bright and engaging personality and razor sharp wit will be sorely missed'.
Ms Graham's son Craig paid tribute, saying: 'My mum was there for me no matter what. I will miss everything about her. I am so proud of her and there will not be a day that goes by that I will not think about her.'
A memorial book will be opened at Port Glasgow Health Centre for staff to pay their respects. The death follows that of West Dunbartonshire care worker Catherine Sweeney last week.
