Steve the lamb and a baby seagull, now named Steven Seagal, have been "inseparable" since they met at Whitehouse Farm in Morpeth, Northumberland, several days ago. Staff at the farm say they often catch the pair snuggling together before the farm opens to visitors each morning.
Unusual Friendship Goes Viral
Video footage of the pair's bond has gone viral on TikTok and Facebook. On Monday, staff shared footage of Steve "mesmerised" by Steven Seagal splashing in a puddle as he attempted to attract worms from the ground. The video has been viewed over 220.8k times on TikTok.
On August 12, Mason Weddle filmed the moment the seagull took a seat on Steve's back. He told ChronicleLive: "I was filming the lamb when I noticed the seagull following him around and the two of them seemed completely fascinated with each other."
'Prison' Pals
Today, the young gull even joined his new best friend in isolation after Steve ate too much food and became poorly. In an update to followers online, staff shared a photo of the pair in "prison", writing: "Steve (lamb) is in prison today as he ate too much food and gave himself a sore tummy! Steven (Seagull) said we come as one, if Steve is in prison, I am too."
Staff first shared news of the pair's friendship on August 13 in a post which said: "Who knew a lamb and a seagull could become best buds. One day a baby seagull turned up and met Steve, our lovable lamb, and they’ve been inseparable ever since."
Visitors Delighted
Mason said onlookers were thoroughly entertained by the unexpected companions, adding: "Everyone around me was laughing at the unusual little friendship, but they all agreed it was really cute too." He added: "I thought it was hilarious but also really heartwarming to watch. It was such an unexpected friendship, and seeing them so comfortable together made the moment feel really special."
The seagull has been named Steven Seagal, although some call him Simon instead.
