According to the Met Office forecast for July 24, the day will be dry for most with sunny spells, but northern and northwestern areas will be cloudier with occasional patchy rain or drizzle. The affected areas include parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Specifically, the rain is expected in Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus, The Highland Council, Argyll and Bute, Na h-Eileanan Siar in Scotland, and County Antrim, County Armagh, County Down, County Fermanagh, County Londonderry, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland.
Heatwave Continues in Southern UK
While the north experiences rain, southern regions are forecast to see temperatures climb above 30C, with peaks of 34C by July 28. The warmest areas include Greater London, Berkshire, and Cambridgeshire, with Hertfordshire, Kent, and Sussex also reaching at least 30C.
The Met Office forecast states: "Staying settled through the week with patchy cloud and the odd shower in the north. Staying warm to very warm with temperatures in the mid to high 20s." It adds that into the weekend and perhaps the start of next week, more unsettled weather with rain at times is expected, especially across northern parts of the UK, potentially reaching southern areas but lighter and patchier.

The forecast also predicts temperatures will reach 34C by July 28. Northern Ireland and Scotland are set to be cooler, with temperatures in the mid-to-late 20s.
