A mum has revealed a game-changing trick for tackling grimy shower screens using two cheap kitchen staples, which has been hailed as a "lifesaver" by viewers. The cleaning enthusiast, who runs the TikTok page My Little Home, demonstrated how to banish stubborn water marks and limescale build-up with a mixture of white vinegar and washing-up liquid.
The Simple Solution
In a popular video, the mum explained that a dirty shower screen makes the entire bathroom look unclean. Her hack involves using a refillable Dishmatic brush filled with equal parts Fairy liquid (or any other washing-up liquid) and white vinegar. A 568ml bottle of white vinegar costs just 35p at Tesco, while the mum specifically used Stardrops' White Vinegar Spray in an 850ml bottle, priced at £1.19 from The Range.
She recommends running the brush briefly under the tap to dampen it before scrubbing the shower screen thoroughly. The mum added: "Top tip - you can do this while you're having a shower. I like to do this while I've got my hair mask in and then you're literally killing two birds with one stone. If you do this every day in your shower you're not going to have a big build up of water marks which means it's going to be a lot quicker."

After scrubbing, she used a window vac to clear the shower screen, noting that those without one can use an ordinary squeegee. Next, she applied shower screen or window cleaner to both sides of the glass. Using a microfibre cloth, she wiped down the exterior side but deliberately avoided the inner side, explaining that you're "not supposed to rub it in."
