Lidl Launches Mr SPF 30.5 Sun Spray for Bald Heads with Pitbull Tie-In
Lidl Launches Sun Spray for Bald Heads in Pitbull Promotion

Lidl has launched a limited-edition sun spray specifically for bald heads, named Mr SPF 30.5, in a playful nod to Pitbull's upcoming tour. The supermarket chain is releasing a version of its Cien sun spray to highlight the increased risks of sun damage to bald scalps, as fans prepare to wear bald caps in tribute to the rapper.

Partnership with Skin Cancer Charity

Created in partnership with skin cancer charity SKCIN, the product aims to remind Brits of sun damage risks. Research shows skin cancer is the most common and fastest-rising cancer in the UK, with 1 in 3 cancers diagnosed being skin cancer. One in four men and one in six women develop non-melanoma skin cancer due to excessive sun exposure, according to SKCIN.

Those with bald heads are particularly vulnerable as their natural scalp UV defence is removed. Mr SPF 30.5 encourages fans sporting bald caps or bare heads to protect their skin.

Charity CEO Comments

Marie Tudor, CEO of SKCIN, said: 'At SKCIN, we're driven to amplify the awareness of skin cancer causes and prevention. While bald caps might be the must-have accessory for fans channelling their inner Mr. Worldwide this summer, it's important to remember that our scalps are particularly vulnerable to the sun's harmful UV rays, as the head is one of the most common areas affected. One in four men will be diagnosed with a form of skin cancer during their lifetime, so education of these issues can help us prevent 90% of the cases, and treat or cure 98% of skin cancer in Brits.'

The bundle will be available from 10am on Monday 6 July while stocks last. Lidl expects the drop to sell out quickly.
