King Charles has declared he is determined to help improve the planet before he dies, reflecting on his decades-long environmental campaign in a new Amazon Prime Video documentary. The 90-minute film, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, chronicles the monarch's lifelong dedication to championing nature and explores the harmony between humanity and the environment.
In the documentary, the King says the situation is “rapidly going backwards” and that mankind is “actually destroying our means to survival”. He expresses hope that “by the time I shuffle off this mortal coil” there might be more awareness of the “need to bring things back together again”. The film includes footage of Charles collecting eggs from his chickens at Highgrove and revealing his love of crispy baked potatoes.
A host of stars attended the premiere at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Sir Kenneth Branagh, Dame Judi Dench, Stanley Tucci, Sir Rod Stewart, Jools Holland, and narrator Kate Winslet. Winslet described the documentary as “special” and “important”, highlighting Charles’s Harmony theory which invites people to see themselves as part of nature.
The film took six months to complete but has been “a lifetime in the making” for Charles. A spokesman said it was “not a conventional royal documentary” but a deeply personal exploration of ideas that have shaped the King’s life and work.
