Firefighters are still at the scene tackling a grass fire that broke out near Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh, almost 24 hours after the alarm was raised on Monday evening.
Fire Incident Details
The alarm was raised at approximately 6:50 PM on May 25, when the fire ignited in vegetation close to the ruins of St Anthony’s Chapel. Two fire engines remained at the scene as of 2 PM on Tuesday.
Clouds of smoke could be seen rising from the area as crews worked to contain the blaze. Local residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure. No injuries have been reported.
