Americans Urge Scotland Fans to Wear Sunscreen in Miami

With Scotland's final World Cup group stage game just around the corner, many Scots have travelled south to Miami to continue their celebrations ahead of the match against Brazil. However, Americans are begging the Tartan Army in south Florida to do one thing: wear sunscreen.

Viral Pool Party Video Sparks Sunburn Concerns

Scottish football fans were seen crowding streets and parks in Boston during their stay, where the weather was warm but comfortable enough for supporters to run around in kilts and enjoy drinks. But in Miami, temperatures have soared, leading the Tartan Army to head to beaches, seek shade under umbrellas, and even host pool parties to keep cool.

In a social media clip uploaded by @fraser_reynolds, a group of Scots can be seen singing "Super John McGinn" while bagpipes play in the background. The video has garnered over 420,000 views on Instagram. One user commented: "This is definitely the first time a Miami pool party has been hit with bagpipes." Another cheered: "Hahaha we go again! Brilliant lads."

Viewers Spot Sunburn and Offer Advice

However, viewers quickly noticed that many fans were visibly sunburnt. Despite Scots being known for not faring well in heat, locals issued warnings. One person wrote: "Boys I’m going to need you all to take a quick break and reapply sunscreen. Trust me." Another added: "I’m seeing so many sunburns already. Lads, please, SUNSCREEN and maybe drink some water, sincerely a Texan."

A third person advised: "Looks like a belter of a time! But you better get a wee bottle of Paracetamol or Ibuprofen, and some aloe gel... I see red on a couple already." Another user wrote: "Sunscreen or it’s going to be a BAD party in the hospital. No beer there!"

Local Resident Shares Wisdom on Florida Sun

A local resident commented: "I live here and I got burnt today! I hope everyone has lots of Aloe ready! Our Celtic skin isn't made for this Florida sun! Keep bringing those bagpipes to all the pool parties! Rash guards are your friend! And Liquid IV in your waters! Love seeing all the Scottish peeps in Miami!"

According to BBC weather, Scots will experience temperatures of up to 35°C this week in Miami. Meteorologists warn the heat index could feel like 44°C. The Tartan Army is also warned about conditions on Wednesday, June 24, when Scotland plays Brazil. The forecaster predicts thundery showers with a gentle breeze, but temperatures will still reach 32°C at kick-off.
