After a slight delay, Sony is poised to announce the next batch of PlayStation Plus Essentials for July 2026. The reveal will take place on Wednesday, July 1, at 4:30pm BST. Subscribers have until Tuesday, July 7, to claim the current lineup, which includes Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, before the new games become available for download through August 4.
Rise of the Ronin Leads Predictions
In the absence of official leaks, the Reddit monthly predictions thread has identified Team Ninja's Rise of the Ronin as the overwhelming favorite to debut on PS Plus. The action RPG, praised for its open-world samurai combat, is widely expected to headline the July offerings. Other titles frequently predicted include roguelike hit Hades, especially following the sequel's multiplatform release, as well as NBA 2K26, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Atomic Heart, and Dying Light 2. Some speculators believe Bungie's Marathon could be included to boost its player base.
Current June 2026 Lineup
The existing June lineup, available until July 7, features three titles: Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, a survival game inspired by Honey I Shrunk the Kids; Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, a Smash Bros-style brawler starring SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron, Rocko, and Garfield; and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a four-player co-op action shooter set in the Warhammer 40K universe. According to Sony, Darktide offers "intense and brutal" combat blending melee and ranged weapons, built on the legacy of the Vermintide series.
What to Expect
Subscribers are advised to redeem the current games before the July 7 deadline. The Daily Express will update this article once the official announcement is made or if any leaks emerge. As always, the July Essentials will be available for download from July 7 through August 4.
