Julia Medeiros, a 24-year-old influencer with 1.1 million Instagram followers, claims she failed her driving test five times in Brazil because examiners were distracted by her looks. Now living in Miami, she told The Daily Mail that test officials repeatedly made comments about her appearance, leading her to question whether her attractiveness affected their judgment.
Examiners' comments raised suspicions
Medeiros, often called the 'Brazilian Kylie Jenner' by fans, said examiners would remark on her glamorous appearance. Examples included: 'You look too glamorous to be here today' and 'You look like an actress or model.' She admitted making mistakes during tests but believes the examiners focused more on her looks than her driving skills.
'The first time, it was anxiety. I got nervous, made mistakes and failed. I started questioning whether my appearance was influencing the way I was being judged. I can't prove anything, but it felt like people were paying less attention to my driving and more attention to me,' she said.
Conflicting feelings about the failures
Medeiros acknowledged she might have been a poor driver initially, but the repeated failures made her wonder. 'I can't say those comments changed the outcome because I have no way of proving that. But when you fail once, you blame yourself. When it happens five times, you start replaying everything in your head, including the comments people made,' she explained.
She added: 'I might genuinely have been a bad driver back then. But after failing five times, I started to wonder whether people were paying more attention to me than to the way I was driving. When something keeps happening over and over again, you naturally start looking for explanations. I'll never know for sure, but it definitely crossed my mind that my appearance may have played a role.'
