I'm A Celebrity star Tom Read Wilson has teased his new project The Taste Test Restaurant, promising viewers will be 'very pleasantly surprised' by what's in store, especially when it comes to hidden gems and cut-price wins. When Daily Star asked what he could reveal about the show, Tom hinted the big takeaway is just how far a tight budget can go.
The Channel 5 show pits supermarket grocery products against luxury brands to see which items truly deliver the best value and flavour. Tom said: 'Well, a lot of runaway budget winners. It's quite a delicious surprise. I'm not allowed to name them. But, I think people will be very pleasantly surprised by how many bargains there are to be had. There are considerable bargains.'
Tom also admitted he still hasn't jumped on one of TV's biggest bandwagons - The Traitors - but he's open to changing that and even signing up. He said: 'Haven't watched it. Everyone I know adores it so I've got to get on board. I think I would go (on Celebrity Traitors). I think, judging by the exquisite people who have done it and are about to do it. In fact I may lose my virginity with this round of celebrity traitors cause I got so many dear chums in it.'
And when we put the big question to him; aliens: yes or no, Tom replied: 'Given how vast the universe is there must somewhere be intelligent life of some kind.'
Drag Race Stars Share Their Thoughts
Also on the red carpet, RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Kate Butch didn't hold back when asked what was most challenging about the iconic show. She quipped: '(RuPaul) very intimidating. The glare off her bald head. It's quite distracting. I could see my reflection, she keeps it ever so shining.' Her tip for bald men? 'Put on a wig and become a drag queen,' Kate laughed.
On The Traitors, Kate was brutally honest about how far she'd go. She said: 'I'd do anything, I'd go on Traitors, I'd stab someone in the back.' And when it came to extraterrestrials, Kate declared: 'My mind is opened to the concept of aliens. I'll have to believe it when I see it. I'm not ruling it out. It would be very selfish to think that we're the only people here. It would be dreadful if we were the only ones in the universe. Give us some aliens right now. Gayliens.'
Fellow RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Kitty Scott-Claus was also in full form, revealing exactly what her strategy would be on Love Island - if she ever strutted into the villa. 'Money. Money. Money. Money,' she said. 'Love can come in in its own time. I'm here for the money. No, do you know what, knowing me. I'd be going in with that mindset and then someone would pay me a compliment and I'll be like 'I love you'.' Kitty also revealed she's seriously disciplined off-stage. She revealed: 'I gym every day. I marathon run. I did the London Marathon last year. It did it in drag as well.'
Trans Activist Shares Personal Journey
Trans activist Kenny Ethan Jones shared one of his proudest moments - helping his sister start a family by donating eggs, meaning he now has a nephew. Asked by the Daily Star what the hardest part of that journey was, Kenny replied: 'Probably having a period again. Not a fan of those, at all. There were the number one thing that made me dysphoric. It took me back to a younger version of me that felt so heartbroken.' And on the question of aliens, Kenny was firm. 'Yes I do,' he said. 'I believe we can't be the only living thing, I don't believe that for one second.'
