The Crow Girl season one makes its Channel 5 debut on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 9pm. The six-part psychological thriller, adapted from Erik Axl Sund's bestselling novel, originally aired on Paramount+ in January 2025, where it was hailed as a "masterpiece" by audiences.
Where Was The Crow Girl Filmed?
Set and filmed primarily in Bristol, the series boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Welsh actor Eve Myles as DCI Jeanette Kilburn, Dougray Scott as DI Lou Stanley, Katherine Kelly as Dr Sophia Craven, Victoria Hamilton, Lee Boardman, Chloé Sweetlove, and Elliot Edusah. Filming for season one took place in February 2024.
One of the most notable filming locations was The Old Bank of England on Wine Street in Bristol city centre, which served as the fictional Bristol Metropolitan Police headquarters. Other locations included Castle Park, Queens Square, Princes Wharf, Welsh Back, The Gold Bar on Corn Street, Sunshine Café on Bedminster's East Street, Greenbank Cemetery in Easton, and The Royal Hotel on Gloucester Road in Avonmouth.

According to the Bristol Film Office, shooting also took place at Brean Downs and Brean Beach in Somerset. Reflecting on the experience, Eve Myles said: "What's wonderful is that it's a city that's small enough to be intimate and yet it's got such grandeur in terms of the architecture. It's also got stunning countryside and such lovely people. It's this little pocket in a big land. A little magical pocket, an unusual place that's just tipping into the sea, which is kooky and unusual."
Series Synopsis
The synopsis for series one states: "When the bodies of unidentified young men start to show up around Bristol, beaten and full of the anaesthetic Lidocaine, police face mounting pressure and little evidence as they hunt the killer. As more bodies surface - including a child missing for over 10 years - the killer edges closer to home, starting a race against time to untangle a web of secrets."
The Crow Girl starts on Channel 5 at 9pm on Monday, July 20. Season two launches simultaneously on Paramount+.
