Fashion designer Pip Edwards has made a remarkably swift return to public life, spotted enjoying a sunny day out with friends in Sydney just a day after being discharged from hospital.
A Speedy Return to Sunshine
The 45-year-old founder of activewear label P.E. Nation left her social media followers deeply concerned on Monday after she posted a cryptic image from a hospital bed. However, by Tuesday, Edwards appeared in high spirits during a relaxed visit to Nielsen Park in Sydney's eastern suburbs for a swim.
Visible signs of her recent medical episode included a bandage on her arm and a hospital identification tag still fastened around her wrist, though she has not disclosed the nature of the ailment that led to her hospitalisation.
Carefree Outing Amidst Personal Challenges
Stripping down to a black bikini, the mother-of-one looked thoroughly relaxed as she soaked up the sunshine. She completed her beach look with a brown printed sarong, sunglasses, and a matching baseball cap, occasionally slipping on a green-and-yellow tank top.
Earlier that same day, Edwards was seen browsing for sunglasses with two male companions in Sydney's eastern suburbs, trying on various stylish frames while wearing the same colourful top paired with loose brown trousers.
This carefree appearance comes after she shared an ominous post on her Instagram Story, which showed the view from her hospital bed. "Five days into 2026 and it's already giving clinical realism. Gotta love a plot twist," she wrote alongside the image.
Prioritising Wellbeing After Trauma
The hospital visit follows a period where Edwards has been consciously focusing on her mental health and wellbeing. This decision comes in the wake of the traumatic events she endured during a Hanukkah celebration near Bondi Beach last month.
Edwards was caught up in the devastating terror attack that left at least 15 people dead and dozens more injured. She later revealed she was forced to hide as two gunmen opened fire, describing it as the most traumatic day of her life.
Sources close to the designer have indicated that she "remains deeply shaken" and is prioritising her recovery from the ordeal. This has influenced her professional decisions, including stepping back from her role as creative director at the iconic label Ksubi, a position she had only recently resumed in September 2024.
Her recent outing with friends, including a lavish New Year's Day lunch with radio host Jackie 'O' Henderson at Bondi Icebergs, signals a positive step forward as she navigates her personal recovery in the new year.
