Pip Edwards Hospitalised with Mystery Illness After Bondi Trauma
Pip Edwards in Hospital with Mystery Illness

Australian fashion designer Pip Edwards has been admitted to hospital with an undisclosed illness, marking a difficult start to the new year for the P.E Nation co-founder.

A Rough Start to 2026

On Monday night, the 45-year-old shared a view from her hospital bed via Instagram Stories, revealing her year had taken an unexpected turn. "Five days into 2026 and it's already giving clinical realism. Gotta love a plot twist," Edwards wrote in her caption.

She did not disclose the nature of her condition or indicate how long she is expected to remain under medical care.

Friends Rally for Support

In a subsequent post, Edwards shared a more uplifting moment, showing a visit from her friend, interior stylist Steve Cordony. The image captured Cordony laughing by her bedside, with Pip writing "The best kind of visits" across the picture.

This hospitalisation comes just days after the designer was seen celebrating the New Year in good spirits with her close friend, radio host Jackie 'O' Henderson. The pair enjoyed Sydney Harbour fireworks and a lavish lunch at Bondi Icebergs, appearing happy and healthy.

Prioritising Recovery After Trauma

The sudden illness follows a period where Edwards had already been focusing intensely on her mental and physical well-being. This decision was prompted by her direct experience during the devastating terror attack at Bondi Beach last month.

During the attack, which left 15 people dead and dozens injured, Edwards was forced to hide as gunmen opened fire. She later described it as the most traumatic day of her life.

Sources close to the designer confirm she "remains deeply shaken" and is prioritising her recovery. This focus on healing is reflected in her recent professional decisions, including stepping back from her role as creative director at the iconic label Ksubi, a position she had only retaken in September 2024.

Edwards shares her teenage son, Justice, with Ksubi co-founder Dan Single. Her commitment to her personal recovery in the wake of such profound events underscores the significant impact of the Bondi tragedy on those who survived it.
