Singer and television presenter Olly Murs has shared an emotional and candid update about his family life, revealing the past few days have been 'really tough' as his entire household battles illness.
A Difficult Family Update on Live TV
While appearing on ITV's This Morning on Tuesday to discuss his upcoming album 'Knees Up', the conversation took a personal turn. Presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley asked the star about life with his two young children, one-year-old Madison and 12-week-old Albert.
Cat Deeley remarked, 'You must be mad!' in reference to having two children under two, to which Olly initially laughed and agreed. However, he then became serious, offering fans a heartfelt insight into his current challenges.
Household Struck by Illness
Olly explained the difficult situation at home, stating, 'To be honest with you, the last couple of days have been really tough because my kids are ill at the moment.' He went on to reveal that his wife, Amelia Tank, is also unwell, adding, 'My wife, bless her, is ill. Just seeing our little babies not their normal selves is really difficult.'
The former X Factor star, who married Tank in 2022, received supportive words from the show's hosts as he reiterated how challenging the period has been for his young family.
A Look Back at a Growing Family
This difficult time comes shortly after a period of great joy for the Murs family. Olly welcomed his son, Albert, in September 2025, sharing the news on social media with a photo captioned, 'Walking out as four. Welcome to the world, our little Albert.'
He later revealed on Facebook that the name pays homage to his great-grandfather, Edward 'Albert' Murs, a connection he discovered while filming BBC's Who Do You Think You Are?
Not all the family uses the baby's full name, however. Olly unveiled the sweet nickname 'Albie' in an Instagram post showing the moment his daughter Madison met her new brother. The touching photo amassed 70,000 likes and comments from celebrities including Mark Wright, Michelle Keegan, and Amanda Holden.
Amelia has also been open on social media about her experience with motherhood, recently sharing a post about her postpartum body and expressing gratitude for how it changed to bring her 'two beautiful babies' into the world. Olly proudly commented on his wife's post, writing, 'Two beautiful kids, one unbelievable, incredible wife. I’m a lucky, lucky man.'
