Olly Murs opens up about 'really tough' family health ordeal

Olly Murs has revealed that his family has been going through a challenging period, with both his young children and wife falling ill. The singer shared the update during an appearance on This Morning, where he discussed his new album but also addressed personal struggles.

Speaking to presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Murs, who has a one-year-old daughter Madison and a 12-week-old son Albert, said: "To be honest with you, the last couple of days have been really tough because my kids are ill at the moment. My wife, bless her, is ill... Just seeing our little babies not their normal selves is really difficult."

The former X Factor star married Amelia Tank in 2022, and they welcomed Albert in September. Murs had previously shared the happy news on social media, posting a family photo leaving the hospital with the caption: "Walking out as four. Welcome to the world, our little Albert." He later revealed that the name Albert was chosen to honour his great-grandfather Edward 'Albert' Murs, a detail he discovered on BBC's Who Do You Think You Are?

The family has also taken to social media to share their journey. Amelia posted a picture of her body two weeks after giving birth, expressing gratitude for her body's ability to bring their children into the world. Murs commented: "Two beautiful kids, one unbelievable, incredible wife. I’m a lucky, lucky man."

Despite the tough days, Murs remains positive, and fans have shown support through comments on his posts.
