The future of BBC's Morning Live has been confirmed, with the programme set to return on August bank holiday Monday.
The daytime show, which typically airs weekdays after BBC Breakfast, has been off air for weeks. Hosts Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton announced in July that the show would take a break over the summer months.
Return date announced on The One Show
During a segment on The One Show on Wednesday (August 19) evening, host Clara Amfo, seated alongside JB Gill, shared an update after a clip on scammers presented by Iona Bain.
Clara said: “Plus, you can see more of Iona and the rest of the Morning Live team when it returns on August bank holiday Monday. But if you can’t wait until then, Morning Live has got a week of very special programmes, starting this coming Monday.”
She added: “It’s going to be packed with tips and tricks that truly could change your life, including the story about the dangers of carbon monoxide.”
Special programming details
The special programming beginning on Monday, August 24, will be the eighth series of Top Tips and Best Bits. The synopsis for the show reads: “Find out if you could be owed money for unclaimed premium bonds and whether there is a correct way to stack a dishwasher.”
Before the break, guest Greg Rutherford had joked, after not being seated alongside the other guests: "What's this all about? It's the last show and I've been kicked out." Gethin then announced: "Speaking of the summer holidays, we're gonna have a little break after today."
