Megan McKenna Reveals Family Expansion Plans and Battles Mum-Shamers
Megan McKenna Plans More Kids, Hits Back at Mum-Shamers

Former TOWIE star Megan McKenna has opened up about her aspirations to grow her family with husband Oliver Burke, expressing a strong belief that any future addition will be another boy. The 33-year-old, who is already mother to 18-month-old son Landon, conceived via IVF, shared these sentiments during a recent public appearance.

Destined to Be a 'Boy Mum'

Speaking at the Ideal Home Show at Olympia London, Megan revealed her conviction about expanding her family. "I don't know what it is, but when I do have another baby, I feel like I'm going to have another boy," she said. "I think I'm a boy mum, and I love that."

She humorously noted that football has become an integral part of her life since Landon began playing with a ball, reflecting her husband's professional career. "I feel like I'm going to be at the football every weekend, freezing," Megan added. "Landon just loves playing with the ball, and obviously his dad loves football, so this is my life now."

Balancing Life Between London and Berlin

Megan currently splits her time between London and Berlin following Oliver's transfer to German club Union Berlin in 2025. She described the challenges of managing household chores solo when in England, contrasting it with shared responsibilities in Germany. "Ollie does the washing up when we're in Germany," she explained. "But when I'm here in England, I have to do it all on my own."

She detailed the exhausting routine of filming cooking clips, editing content, putting Landon to bed, and then tackling a messy kitchen that takes at least an hour to clean. "Thank God for dishwashers," she quipped.

Responding to Mum-Shaming Criticism

Beyond family plans, Megan has faced unwarranted criticism online, particularly from mum-shamers. In October, she publicly addressed comments from Masterchef series 13 star Bernice Marie, who questioned why Landon wasn't crawling yet at nearly one year old.

In a now-deleted comment, Bernice wrote: "Such a good mum he can't even crawl and is nearly 1... its shocking," accompanied by laughing and shocked emojis. Megan responded via Instagram, insisting that while she doesn't typically engage with trolls, this instance compelled her to speak out.

Defending Her Parenting

"Do you know what I never come on to just like out people but something these people need to be educated," Megan said in a video. She explained that crawling milestones vary widely, with some babies skipping crawling altogether. "Landon is literally on the verge... He is literally like on his knees and moving, he just hasn't been able to do the actual moving with the knees."

She emphasized the absurdity of mum-shaming, stating: "I just think this mum-shaming needs to stop because it's absolutely ridiculous." Fans rallied in support, praising Megan's devotion and dismissing the criticism as unfounded.

Personal Life and Career

Megan married Oliver Burke last year in a romantic ceremony at Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire. Since becoming a mother, she has cultivated a significant online following through her cooking content, while also navigating health challenges like a wheat allergy and coeliac disease.

Her openness about parenting struggles and triumphs continues to resonate with followers, highlighting the pressures faced by public figures in the digital age.
