Married At First Sight UK star Ash Galati has delivered devastating news to his social media followers, revealing the death of his beloved sister following a courageous fight against cancer.
A Heartbreaking Announcement
The 33-year-old reality television personality, who appeared on the 2024 series of the Channel 4 programme, used Instagram this week to share the sorrowful update about his sister Cass's passing. The former groom posted a collection of photographs documenting their life together, creating a poignant visual memorial.
Among the images was a particularly moving screenshot showing supportive words Cass had previously written to her brother. "You are the greatest brother in the whole world," Cass's message read. "Always there to help out whenever I need you. So proud of the person you are and so grateful you are my brother."
A Sincere Tribute to His Sister
Ash accompanied the emotional photographs with a deeply personal caption honouring his sister's memory. He described Cass as someone who had fundamentally helped shape his life's direction, even crediting her with preventing him from taking a negative path during his teenage years.
"My beautiful sister Cass, I know you hated social media," Ash wrote. "We all loved you; you didn't deserve this ending. It was so unfair. Life can be so unfair." He revealed a specific memory from when he was fifteen, recalling: "I remember you vividly telling me, as a 15-year-old, that if I got arrested, you'd kill me and that I couldn't get arrested because you would get in trouble at work."
The MAFS Connection Revealed
In a surprising disclosure, Ash explained that his decision to apply for Married At First Sight was directly connected to his sister's illness. He revealed that Cass had promised to watch the show during her chemotherapy treatments, which motivated him to apply.
"The reason I applied for that show was that you said you'd watch it during chemo; if I got on, then forced me to apply, only to second-guess after producers started ringing," he shared. Ash also credited his sister with inspiring his extensive travels and his ability to see goodness in people.
He described Cass as "a risk-taker, a good cop—the ones you see in the movies," before adding painfully: "This shouldn't have been your ending." He concluded his tribute with the emotional words: "Forever broken, fly high, sis."
Outpouring of Support from MAFS Community
The tragic post prompted an immediate flood of condolences from friends, followers, and fellow Married At First Sight alumni. Jack Dunkley, another star from the programme, commented: "Your sister would be so proud of you Ash, your generosity & your gift you bring into people's life. She is in a better place, my guy RIP Cass."
MAFS participant Tori Adams also offered her sympathies, writing: "Oh Ash. My deepest, deepest condolences to you and your family."
Ash rose to prominence on the most recent series of Married At First Sight UK, where he was paired with psychic medium Madeleine Maxwell. Their relationship struggled to develop, particularly during a challenging honeymoon period where they found connecting difficult.
