Love Island's latest recoupling saw Casa Amor bombshells Mara Pirez and Charleen Murphy dumped from the villa. The newcomers had secured places in the main villa after romances with Simba Kudyiwa and Kavan Murphy, but both men chose their original partners.
Mara's Disappointment
Nursery manager Mara, 25, became embroiled in a love triangle with Simba and his former flame Angelista Gunda. Simba recoupled with Angelista, leaving Mara single. She hoped Jordon Wilson might save her, but he chose Martha Rothwell, shocking the villa and ending Mara's journey.
After her departure, Mara confessed: "It was really disappointing because it felt like I'd been rejected for a second time. Everything in there is so emotional, and I started wondering why nobody liked me." She added: "When Jordon picked Martha, I honestly wondered if he'd got our names mixed up."
Mara's Reflection
Despite the disappointment, Mara described her Love Island stint as "surreal and amazing." She said: "There were so many emotions. There were moments of happiness and moments of sadness because things weren't working out, but it was genuinely an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience." She added she "wouldn't change anything" as she remained true to herself.
Even Martha was shocked when Jordon chose her, admitting she had zoned out during his speech. Mara left with Charleen, noting: "I'm really happy that I got to leave with Charleen, though, because we started this journey together and ended it together."
Love Island Season 13 airs every Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
