Actor Liev Schreiber was rushed to a New York hospital on Monday after experiencing a sudden and severe headache. The 58-year-old, best known for his role in Ray Donovan, contacted his doctor when the pain escalated rapidly and was advised to seek immediate evaluation.
Schreiber was admitted overnight for a series of urgent tests as clinicians worked to determine the cause. His representative later confirmed that he had been cleared to return to work, saying, 'Out of an abundance of caution, Liev went into the hospital for testing and as of this afternoon, he has been cleared to return to work.'
Initial examinations reportedly indicated that the episode was not a stroke or other major neurological event. Schreiber was able to speak normally, walk unaided, and move all limbs without impairment, reassuring doctors that he had not suffered any acute or lasting neurological damage.
This incident follows previous health scares for the actor. In April 2024, he revealed a debilitating migraine that temporarily affected his memory, and earlier in his career, he experienced transient global amnesia during a Broadway performance, which also required medical evaluation.
Doctors have not yet established whether this week's symptoms are connected to his earlier episodes. Schreiber's representative did not provide further details on the cause of the headache.
