Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi will headline Wythenshawe Park this Saturday, August 22, as part of the Live From Wythenshawe Park concert series. The 'Some You Loved' hitmaker will make his debut at the venue after having to cancel his scheduled 2023 show at the park to focus on his mental and physical health.
The Cure will perform on Friday night before Capaldi's headline slot on Saturday. Support acts for Saturday include London-born, Glasgow-raised singer-songwriter Charlie Phillips, known as Quiet Man, and British hip-hop star Loyle Carner.
Background and Significance
Live From Wythenshawe Park began in 2023 with a performance from Noel Gallagher. Since then, tens of thousands of gig-goers have seen shows from New Order, Blossoms, Fontaines D.C. and Sam Fender.
Capaldi's 2023 cancellation followed an emotional performance at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2023 where he struggled with his voice and experienced increased Tourette's syndrome tics. He returned to the stage in 2025 with a sold-out UK arena tour, and confirmed outdoor dates for 2026 including shows in Dublin, Limerick, Exeter, Cardiff, Leeds and London. This week he plays Vital in Belfast on Thursday before heading to Wythenshawe Park.
Stage Times and Support Acts
All set times are subject to change but the following timings have been confirmed by organisers: doors open at 4pm, Quiet Man performs at 6:30pm, Loyle Carner at 7:30pm, Lewis Capaldi at 9pm, and curfew is at 10:30pm.
Quiet Man, nominated for BBC Introducing Scottish Act of the Year 2025, is known for stripped-back, soulful indie-folk tracks. Loyle Carner is an acclaimed hip-hop musician, writer and actor known for his confessional, jazz-inflected rap style, with hits including 'Ottolenghi', 'Loose Ends' and 'Damselfly'.
