Newcastle Racecourse has announced a strict dress code for Ladies Day 2026, taking place on Saturday, July 25, with sportswear and football shirts explicitly banned. The event, one of the most anticipated fixtures in the North East racing calendar, expects a large crowd dressed to impress.
Dress Code Details
According to the racecourse, no sportswear or football shirts will be permitted anywhere on the grounds. Fancy dress is allowed only in the Grandstand area, provided it does not cause offence, and is prohibited in the Premier Enclosure. Smart trainers and denim jeans are permitted in the Grandstand, Premier, and Hospitality areas, but the racecourse stipulates they must have no rips or tears. Fascinators, hats, and three-piece suits are encouraged for the occasion.
Event Background
Ladies Day follows Plate Day, which took place in late June amid hot weather. ChronicleLive photographers captured the best-dressed attendees at Plate Day, and similar style is expected for Ladies Day. Tickets remain available for the event, which promises to be a glamorous affair.
