Reality television icon Kim Kardashian has revealed a chilling security scare in which she was informed that someone extremely close to her had allegedly put a hit out on her life.
The 45-year-old star detailed what she described as a scary ordeal during the fourth episode of season seven of her family's show, The Kardashians, appropriately titled 'A Tragedy in Reality'.
The Chilling Revelation
Kardashian explained that the disturbing information came to her through an unexpected channel. An attorney contacted her after hearing rumours from inmates within the prison system about the alleged threat against her life.
The mother-of-four was told the person responsible was someone extremely close to me that used to be in my life, though she deliberately refrained from naming the individual publicly.
Despite the shocking nature of the claim, Kardashian took the threat seriously, immediately implementing drastic security measures. I had to switch out all my cars, she revealed, describing the extensive precautions she was forced to take.
Investigation and Emotional Toll
The situation demanded significant time and emotional energy as she met repeatedly with attorneys and investigators to address the potential danger. It was definitely scary, Kardashian admitted, to know or to feel that energy out there.
Ultimately, investigators determined the threat wasn't real in the conventional sense. They concluded that the person behind the scheme just wanted some money and was going to act like it was happening but they were going to stop it for you, Kardashian explained.
The apparent plan was to make her feel indebted to them by supposedly preventing an attack that was never genuinely planned. Despite the eventual conclusion that there was no actual hitman, Kardashian confirmed the experience took a toll on her emotionally.
Bar Exam Pressure and Eventual Failure
Compounding the stress of the security scare, Kardashian was simultaneously in the midst of intensive preparation for the notoriously difficult California bar exam. She shared that she had been studying nine hours a day, every day and described feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.
The timing proved particularly challenging as she received the disturbing phone call about the alleged hit while being proctored by an attorney during her studies. I stepped out to get the call, and I sat here and like one tear came down my face, she recalled.
Despite her dedication, which included making studying her number one focus in the three months leading up to the exam, Kardashian recently confirmed she did not pass the July test. In a statement, she remained determined, saying Falling short isn't failure - it's fuel.
Three veteran attorneys later commented that her setback is far from unusual, noting that the California bar exam has one of the lowest pass rates in the United States, with the pass rate for repeat takers sometimes falling as low as 24 percent.
