Kelvin Fletcher and his wife, Liz, were overcome with emotion during the latest episode of Fletcher's Family Farm on ITV, as their daughter Marnie participated in the Royal Cheshire Show with their cows Cherry and Sonic. Kelvin admitted that Marnie's confession of feeling scared 'broke my heart.'
Family Milestone at the Royal Cheshire Show
In the repeat episode, Kelvin and Marnie competed with their cows Cherry and Sonic, having owned them for only four weeks. Kelvin noted, 'Marnie is doing so well handling Sonic, especially as he seems to be a little bit overwhelmed by the buzz of the crowd.'
Liz, watching from the sidelines, became emotional. Speaking to the camera, she said, 'Can you believe your sister's out there with the cow?' She asked her son, Milo, 'Are you proud of her?' Fighting tears, she added, 'If we go home with a rosette or not, the fact that we have managed this... I have literally got tears in my eyes.'
Pride and Tears
Liz continued, 'It makes me so emotional because there's so much to do, and it's scary. It's nerve-wracking, and to just stand there, and all these other people that have been doing it for years, and it might even be their first show. It's just an amazing tradition, and I'm so proud. I'm so proud of Kelvin. I'm so proud of Marnie.'
After Marnie received a rosette for first prize, Liz beamed, 'Marnie just got a rosette. Honestly, I am too emotional. It's been an absolute rollercoaster, but she did it, and she's going on with a little rosette.'
Kelvin's Emotional Admission
Kelvin, also fighting tears, said, 'Oh, I can't explain the emotions I'm feeling. I felt just immense....I was really nervous when I first went out. More nervous for Marnie, and Marnie said to me that she was scared, and it broke my heart. And I just said, 'Come on, push through it, embrace the fear, and she did so well.''
As the family embraced, Kelvin told Marnie, 'I was so proud. I was gonna cry.' He added, 'What a moment for us.'
Fletcher's Family Farm is available to watch on ITVX.
