Kathy Griffin, 65, Reveals Dating App Journey One Year After Divorce
Kathy Griffin on dating apps after divorce

Comedian Kathy Griffin has candidly shared details of her new quest for romance, revealing she has joined four different dating apps just one year after her divorce was finalised.

The 65-year-old star, who split from her second husband, marketing executive Randy Bick, 47, is actively looking for 'somebody to share a life with' and confessed the process feels 'just embarrassing'.

The Search for a 'Regular Guy'

Speaking to People magazine, Griffin disclosed, 'I'm on four freaking apps. I've gone on three different dates so far.' She described the men she met as 'all nice guys' but admitted she didn't feel a genuine connection with any of them.

Griffin was specific about the kind of partner she hopes to find, explicitly stating she does not want to date a fellow A-list celebrity. 'I like a guy that's nice, that's smart, that can handle the fact that I'm like a ballsy comedian and not be threatened by that,' she explained. Her ideal match is a 'regular guy', a stark contrast to the typical Hollywood personality.

Moving On From a Public Split

This new chapter in her personal life comes after she filed for divorce from Randy Bick in December 2023. The couple, who had an 18-year age gap, cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for their split, just three years after marrying on New Year’s Day in 2020.

At the time, Griffin expressed her heartbreak on social media, simply writing, 'Well…sh*t. This sucks.' She also requested the court to enforce their prenuptial agreement, ensuring neither party would receive spousal support.

Sources close to the pair indicated that the divorce followed a period where the couple had 'grown apart'. They suggested that Bick had become a 'homebody', while Griffin, who 'feels in her thirties', wanted a partner with the same zest for life and travel.

Leaning on Friends and Past Relationships

In the wake of the difficult separation, Griffin turned to her close friends for support, notably reaching out to fellow actress Jane Fonda, 87. She shared a touching account of their conversation on social media, where Fonda offered comfort and a meal, demonstrating the importance of her female friendships during this time.

This was Griffin's second divorce, having previously been married to actor Matthew Moline from 2001 to 2006. Her relationship with Bick, which began after they met at a food and wine festival in 2011, was occasionally the subject of public commentary due to their age difference, a topic Griffin herself had previously joked about.

Now, with her profile active on multiple dating platforms, Kathy Griffin is embracing the modern world of romance, determined to find a genuine connection and a new partner to share her life with.
