Janette Manrara Hints at Next TV Move After Strictly Exit

Janette Manrara has seemingly hinted at her next TV move after confirming she was 'no longer part' of Strictly Come Dancing after 13 years. The presenter and dancer, 42, recently revealed her departure from the BBC show and its spin-off It Takes Two, but appears to be eyeing a role on ITV's This Morning.

Strictly Come Dancing Shake-Up

There has been a massive shake-up to the hit BBC One dance show ahead of the 2026 series, due to kick off in September. It started with the exit of long-time hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman at the end of last year, who have since been confirmed to be replaced by Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe.

Also, after months of rumours that several cast members had been cut from the show, it was confirmed that professional dancers Karen Hauer, Gorka Marquez, Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk and Michelle Tsiakkas would not be returning. Janette was also widely rumoured to be facing the axe, alongside her It Takes Two co-host Fleur East.

Janette Confirms Departure

In a video posted on her YouTube account, Janette said: 'Strictly Come Dancing has changed hugely, and I am no longer a part of It Takes Two or the main show. I'll still be involved in other ways. But that just means that I'm free to pursue and do many other projects that I've always wanted to do and never really thought about doing. Strictly is all I've known for the last 14 years so it is a bit like, Oh, we're going into a different world, a different space, how are we going to navigate that?'

The 42-year-old, whose husband Aljaz Skorjanec has been confirmed to be returning to the pro line-up this year, joined the series in 2013 as a professional dancer, before leaving in 2020. The following year she took over from Zoe Ball as the host of It Takes Two, alongside Rylan Clark and then Fleur.

Hint at ITV Move

Janette appears to be taking things in her stride and earlier this week, she was seen reuniting with her Strictly pals at a history-making performance from Bad Bunny at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, before she was soon back at work and hinted she's swapping channels for her next gig. Janette, who also co-hosts Morning Live on the BBC, took to her Instagram Story with a video in which she struggled to keep her eyes open following her evening out. As she sat on the train, she wrote: 'Been travelling since 6am this morning... But filming something very special today. It will all be worth it,' before she tagged the Instagram page of ITV's This Morning.

Future Plans Include Musicals

Last month, Janette was seen answering questions about a possible return to the stage, having last year taken on the iconic role of Roxy Hart in the musical Chicago. When asked if she would do another musical, she replied in a video: 'Absolutely yes, amen. I will be doing more musicals. Watch this space. My calendar has now been freely opened, so that's a new, exciting chapter of my life. Not new, because I obviously played Roxy in Chicago, but the future is looking gorgeous, darlings!'
