Reality television star Holly Hagan has shared a devastating tribute to her late sister Darci Rose on what would have been her 20th birthday, weeks after her tragic death believed to be linked to drugs.
A Sister's Heartfelt Birthday Message
The Geordie Shore star, 33, took to Instagram on Sunday to honour her younger sister, posting an emotional message to her 4 million followers. Holly wrote directly to Darci, saying: "Happy 20th birthday baby girl... I hope you're dancing up there singing Ella ayre [sic] on karaoke."
She continued with profound sadness, acknowledging the promising future cut short: "You had blossomed into such an incredible, beautiful young woman Darci, I'm so sorry this happened to you... I know you would want to be here celebrating too. We miss and love you more than you'll ever know."
The Tragic Circumstances
This heartbreaking tribute comes weeks after Holly first announced her sister's death in late October. In her initial statement, Holly revealed that Darci passed away peacefully while holding her hand, surrounded by family and close friends.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to the Manchester Royal Infirmary on Sunday, October 19, 2025, concerning a 19-year-old woman who had fallen "seriously ill after it is believed she had taken drugs." Tragically, the woman, confirmed to be Darci Rose, died in hospital the following Monday evening.
Holly described her family as "traumatised in every sense of the word" following the incident. She expressed gratitude to the ambulance crew and staff at Manchester Royal Infirmary for giving her sister "the absolute best chance" at survival.
Remembering Darci's Life and Spirit
In her touching tribute, Holly painted a vivid picture of her younger sister's personality and aspirations. She described Darci as someone who "lived in Darci world," forgetting to turn lights off and not knowing how to lock doors after nights out.
More importantly, Holly highlighted Darci's ambitions to work in social work, having discovered a passion for helping children. "I just know she's looking after all the babies up there," Holly wrote poignantly.
The reality star also shared cherished family memories, recalling how Darci had been "the best aunty" to her nephew Alpha-Jax, spending his entire birthday on the bouncy castle with him. Holly described these moments as memories she would "cherish forever."
Despite their shared mother Vicki, Holly and Darci had different fathers. Darci had largely lived out of the spotlight compared to her famous half-sister.
Holly concluded her tribute with powerful words about finding strength in grief, writing: "I don't know if I'm behaving in a way I assumed I would when grieving but I genuinely feel she has given me so much strength and is watching over us all as our guardian angel. We love you so much baby girl. Forever 19."
