Holly Hagan's 'World Has Stopped' After Teen Sister Darci Dies at 19
Holly Hagan's sister Darci dies aged 19

Reality television star Holly Hagan has broken her social media silence with a raw and emotional video, detailing the 'surreal' grief she and her family are enduring following the death of her 19-year-old sister, Darci.

A Heartbreaking Update

The 33-year-old Geordie Shore personality had been absent from online platforms for a month after the devastating loss of her half-sister last month. In a candid clip posted to Instagram, a tearful Holly confessed she was unsure about sharing her pain but felt compelled to give followers an update.

She wrote in the caption: "A little life update from last week. I wasn't sure whether to share or not as honestly this is such a vulnerable time... but this is the reality of where I'm at right now."

In the video, Holly struggled to speak, pausing multiple times to compose herself. "It is and has been the toughest four weeks of our entire life," she revealed. "I actually just don't know how to process this whole situation, and neither do my parents."

Navigating Unimaginable Grief

Holly described a world that has ground to a halt for her family, while life continues for everyone else. "My world has stopped. Her parents' world has stopped. We feel, like, stuck and then the world keeps spinning," she shared, highlighting the isolating nature of their loss.

She admitted that filming the video before going out was a mistake, as evenings are particularly difficult. The reality star expressed a desire to return to her normal content but stated she is not yet capable. "Right now I feel like I'm weighted by lead. It feels like I'm just so heavy, everything is feeling like it's ten times harder to do," Holly explained.

Taking a deep breath, she apologised to her followers while fighting back tears, adding: "This whole situation has felt incredibly surreal, I've felt like I'm in a film... but to have to live through it, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy."

A Final Farewell and Ongoing Enquiries

Darci's funeral was held earlier this week, with Holly sharing photographs of the order of service. Her tribute read: "My sister, my forever friend. His auntie, his greatest gift. Now our guardian angel. I hope we did you proud today baby girl. We all miss and love you so much."

She was supported on the day by friends, including former Geordie Shore co-star Sophie Kasaei, who called it "the most amazing send off for a beautiful girl who was loved by so many."

Holly first confirmed the tragedy last month, stating her sister had "passed away peacefully holding my hand surrounded by family and her best friends" after a four-day ordeal she described as every family's worst nightmare.

Greater Manchester Police later issued a statement confirming they were called on Sunday, 19 October 2025, by hospital staff concerned for the welfare of a 19-year-old woman who had "fallen seriously ill after it is believed she had taken drugs." The force confirmed the woman died in hospital on Monday, 20 October 2025, and that enquiries are ongoing.
