Greatest Showman musical to premiere in West End

The 2017 film The Greatest Showman is officially heading to London's West End in a new stage musical adaptation, its production company has confirmed.

The production will open at the historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane on May 5, 2027, with preview performances beginning on April 14. The initial booking period will run through October 2, 2027.

Lead Cast Announced

West End favourite Oliver Tompsett, known for roles in Wicked, We Will Rock You and Rock Of Ages, will lead the cast as P.T. Barnum, master of the circus. Barnum's wife Charity will be played by Samantha Barks, who starred in Les Misérables on stage and in the 2012 film, and originated the role of Elsa in Disney's Frozen at the same theatre.

The principal cast also features Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajèn van den Bosch as Jenny Lind, and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz.

Creative Team and Score

Featuring the GRAMMY Award-winning score by EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the show will include hit anthems such as "This Is Me," "The Greatest Show," "A Million Dreams," and "Rewrite the Stars," alongside new original songs written for the stage production.

The production is directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, with a book written by Tim Federle. Based on the 20th Century Studios motion picture with a story by Jenny Bicks, the stage show marks the first 20th Century Studios property adapted for theatre by Disney Theatrical Group, co-produced with The Seelig Group.
