Nikki Glaser returned to host the Golden Globes for a second year running, delivering a sharp monologue that targeted Leonardo DiCaprio, the Epstein files, and CBS News. The comedian kicked off by quipping about Netflix's $82.7 billion bid to buy Warner Bros, setting the tone for an evening of edgy humour.
Glaser took a jab at the Epstein list, referring to 'A-listers on a heavily redacted list' and joked that the Golden Globe for best editing should go to the Justice Department. She then turned on the awards show's broadcaster, saying: 'The award for most editing goes to CBS News – America's newest place to see B.S. news,' a reference to the network's recent controversy over a killed 60 Minutes segment.
The host singled out Leonardo DiCaprio, noting his three Globes and Oscar, but adding: 'The most impressive thing is that you accomplished all that before your girlfriend turned 30.' She acknowledged the joke was cheap, but claimed there is little else known about the actor. George Clooney was also in her sights; Glaser asked him to troubleshoot her watery Nespresso, to which Clooney playfully mouthed a reply.
Other targets included Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, whom she called her 'favourite comedy duo' before branding them 'Steve Martin and Martin Short for people under 50 IQ.' She also poked fun at The White Lotus, saying season three was the first hit show to feature incest since The Property Brothers. Among further jibes, Sean Penn was described as a 'sexy leather handbag', and Timothée Chalamet was said to have gained 'over 60 ounces' for his role.
Glaser's return as host follows a well-received debut in 2025, which led to a swift rebooking. The comedian, who hosted Saturday Night Live in November, is currently co-writing and starring in a Judd Apatow-produced rom-com and has a Hulu special due in 2026.
