Emmerdale's Most Explosive Summer: Secrets, Lies, and Betrayal
Emmerdale's Most Explosive Summer: Secrets and Betrayal

Emmerdale has confirmed stormy times ahead on the ITV soap as secrets and lies resurface while relationships begin to fracture. Set to be one of the ITV soap's 'most explosive summers' yet, it's a summer of 'jealousy, revenge, and betrayal' with Kev Townsend, Lewis Barton, Mack Boyd, Robert Sugden, Ross Barton and Billy Fletcher all taking centre stage.

Mack's Struggle with Deception

In the upcoming scenes, Mack, played by Lawrence Robb, is finding it difficult to see a way back from Charity Dingle's, played by Emma Atkins, deception and the realisation that Ross, played by Mike Parr, is Leyla’s real father. Mack manages to suppress his anger at Ross' betrayal, although inevitably the situation comes to a head as they argue and a barnside tussle leaves someone's life hanging in the balance.

Dawn's Wedding Jeopardy

Meanwhile, despite her wedding day fast approaching, Dawn Fletcher, played by Olivia Bromley, is struggling to see her ex Billy, played by Jay Kontzle, dating Gabby Thomas, played by Rosie Bentham. Soon even husband-to-be Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous, starts to wonder if Gabby might be right about Dawn still having feelings for Billy. Will the wedding of the summer go off without a hitch or will jealousy destroy their big day?

Lewis and Kev's Reunion

Elsewhere, Lewis, played by Bradley Riches, finally decides to give his biological dad, Kev, played by Chris Coghill, a chance, but their reunion is short-lived. Shocked to find the cafe has been ransacked and theorising who could be behind the robbery, the idea inevitably arises that Kev had something to do with it; and Lewis is determined to find out the truth. Outraged by the accusation, Kev adamantly denies any involvement in the robbery. Kev tries to plead his case but Lewis is having none of it. Has he blown his chance to be a father already?

Robert and Serena's Secret

And finally, Robert, played by Ryan Hawley, is rattled when Kev suddenly remembers where he knows his long-lost cousin, Serena Sugden, played by Casey Al-Shaqsey, from. When Robert is struck unconscious by a runaway farm trailer, Aaron Dingle, played by Danny Miller, is deeply suspicious that Serena just happened to be at the scene. He lays out his theory to Robert, and he and Chas Dingle, played by Lucy Pargeter, agree to keep an eye on her. As he and Chas dig for answers, a secret on Serena's stolen phone threatens to blow everything wide open. Robert confronts a floundering Serena with proof she is lying. What is she keeping from them and will they be able to forgive her deception?

Producer's Tease

Teasing the explosive summer in the village, Emmerdale Producer, Sophie Roper, said: "From long-held secrets coming to light to fractured relationships pushed to the limit, expect a summer season of high stakes, revenge, and betrayal that will leave viewers questioning who they can trust. It's set to be one of our most explosive summers with so much more to come..."

Emmerdale typically airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
