Emmerdale's Caleb Vows Dark Revenge After Scam, But Joe Tate Isn't His Target
Emmerdale's Caleb Vows Revenge After Scam, Not Joe Tate

Emmerdale's Caleb Miligan was shown wanting revenge on Monday after a scam was exposed. The character was conned into transferring £5,000 to a bank account, believing it was his daughter Steph Miligan. Archie Breckle had used an AI voice recording of Steph to trick Caleb into a faked phone call.

Caleb gave 'Steph' money as requested, and on Monday she wanted more. It's then that Steph's true whereabouts were revealed, as well as the fact that it wasn't her wanting the money. Meanwhile, we saw Archie and Kerry Wyatt frantic as Eric Pollard exposed their scam and messed up the latest attempt. When Caleb realised he'd been tricked, he knew the money was gone and he was furious.

Caleb's Vow for Revenge

But it was when his wife Ruby Miligan pointed out that something the scammer had said gave away it was someone in the village that Caleb took action. He decided to call the police and vowed to get back at whoever it was behind the scam. Ruby talked of Caleb wanting to "even the score," before Caleb said: "The money is long gone. I hope it chokes them. I'm phoning the police. If it's someone from round here they better watch their back."

So if Caleb does find out it's Kerry, his employee, and Archie, he will no doubt want revenge. But what will he do to them? It comes after Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw teased a different revenge plot against Joe Tate.

Separate Revenge Against Joe Tate

Shaw said: "We have a story coming up at the depot with Caleb trying to get his groove back, which leads to some problems up there. Going forward, we’ll reach a point where Caleb begins to see an opportunity to get Joe back. He’s not forgotten that Joe stole his kidney, and an opportunity will present itself in the summer that means Caleb and Ruby are working together to get the ultimate revenge on Joe."

Meanwhile, Caleb actor Will Ash teased how the scam will lead to Caleb pursuing dodgy dealings. He teased of what’s ahead: "This line of work is pretty dodgy really. So he's getting himself deeper into that, but he is making a lot of money from doing it. He ends up recruiting Kerry and Billy is still helping him. Things tend to go wrong when they're going right though. Another avenue does open up for him where he can counterfeit but in another way. He does start going down that darker route, but he loves it."

The storyline kicks off this week. Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
