Emmerdale spoilers have revealed the identity of newcomer Kylie, who kidnaps Lewis Barton on the ITV soap, with the reason for the abduction also confirmed ahead of the twist airing.
Who Is Kylie?
A new character debuts on Emmerdale in the fallout to a horror kidnapping twist that airs this week. Kylie is revealed to be linked to returning character Kev Townsend. Not only that, but it is confirmed she is behind the shocking abduction of Lewis Barton, Kev's son.
We meet Kylie next week when she first appears on screen, and this will be when we find out who she is. Pictures have confirmed what she looks like, and spoilers have teased her link to Kev. Not only that, but the spoilers have confirmed why Lewis is kidnapped and what Kylie wants from him.
The Kidnapping Unfolds
It all kicks off on Friday this week, with Lewis unaware he is being targeted until it is too late. Lewis prepares to join his partner Vinny Dingle at the airport for their first holiday together. Wanting to catch up with Vinny, he heads out with his suitcase, only to be stopped in his tracks. A white van pulls up rather abruptly, and two masked men are seen. Lewis appears terrified as one of the men grabs him, and suddenly he is bundled into the van.
Spoilers for next week confirm he is taken to a house, with newcomer Kylie orchestrating the ordeal. With Lewis shut away in a room and fearing for his life, he needs answers when Kylie taunts him. Pictures show the new character sitting on the bed with Lewis, with her threatening his safety. Lewis has yet to find out about Kev being his dad, so he will no doubt be confused at why he has been taken. When Lewis asks if Kylie is planning to hurt him, her response leaves him anxious.
Kylie's Motive
It soon emerges that Kylie has a score to settle with Kev, while their full history is not confirmed. What is revealed is that Kev has stolen something that is precious to Kylie: a diamond she refers to as 'Penny'. Kylie simply wants Kev to return the diamond to her, and in exchange she will release Lewis.
Of course, Kev has to be tracked down and told what has happened, with Lewis's brother Ross Barton initially threatened by Kylie. Ross does not realise until a chat with Liam Cavanagh that Kev is Lewis's dad. As things escalate, Kev is called upon to save Lewis. But with Kev still not being entirely honest about his link to Kylie and 'Penny', will he let Lewis down in his time of need? He might not have a choice as Ross takes action to ensure Lewis's safety.
