Emmerdale fans are convinced they have uncovered Vinny Dingle's exit storyline, and it spells tragedy for the beloved character. After seven years on the ITV soap, reports suggest that Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny, has been axed as part of cost-cutting measures. Now, viewers are predicting a heartbreaking death twist.
Vinny's Journey on Emmerdale
Vinny Dingle, adopted son of Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), has become a fan favorite over the years. He has been involved in major storylines, including his troubled relationship with biological father Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale) and the devastating death of his wife, Liv (Isobel Steele). Recently, Vinny embraced his sexuality and began dating his first boyfriend, Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches).
Fan Theories Emerge
Following reports of Vinny's departure, fans took to a Facebook fan page to share their theories. One user speculated: "Who else thinks they'll kill him off?" Another agreed: "Most likely." A third added: "I'd like him and Lewis to have a happy ending but we know that won't happen." Some even suggested murder as a possible exit.
An insider previously told media: "Bradley is a very popular member of the cast and especially close with his on-screen Dingle family. Everyone is shocked that bosses decided to axe him but it's all part of the ITV cuts."
Other Departures
Vinny is not alone in facing the axe. In March, Olivia Bromley, who plays Dawn Taylor, was reportedly let go. In May, rumors emerged that Nick Miles, who has played Jimmy King for over 20 years, would also leave and be killed off. A source explained: "Bosses are under pressure to cut costs and sadly that means popular cast members being told their time is up."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
