Eddie Murphy's Daughter Bria Expecting First Child

Hollywood is celebrating some exciting family news as Bria Murphy, the eldest daughter of comedy icon Eddie Murphy, has announced she's expecting her first child.

Red Carpet Revelation

The 35-year-old mother-to-be chose a special occasion to reveal her pregnancy, showcasing her growing baby bump at the Los Angeles premiere of her father's new documentary, Being Eddie, on Wednesday night. Bria looked radiant in a striking golden yellow, brown, and red print bodycon long-sleeved dress that beautifully highlighted her pregnancy.

This joyful news comes three years after Bria married actor Michael Xavier in a beautiful Beverly Hills ceremony back in July 2022. The couple celebrated their union with 250 guests and have been sharing their love story publicly since their engagement in December 2021.

Expanding Murphy Family

The new arrival will mark a significant milestone for the Murphy family dynasty. This baby will become Eddie Murphy's third grandchild, joining his son Myles' two daughters - six-year-old Evie and one-year-old Zuri.

Family appears to be at the heart of everything for the 64-year-old Beverly Hills Cop star, who was joined by six of his ten children at the midweek red carpet event celebrating his documentary. In a recent interview, Eddie reflected on his unexpectedly large family, telling People magazine: "I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it's the best thing ever."

The comedian shares Bria and four other children - Myles (33), Shayne (31), Zola (25), and Bella (23) - with his ex-wife Nicole Murphy. His family extends to include Eric (36) from his relationship with Paulette McNeely, Christian (34) with Tamara Hood, and Angel (18) with former Spice Girl Mel B.

Family First Philosophy

Eddie's current wife, Paige Butcher, 46, has also expanded the family, with the couple welcoming Izzy (9) and Max (7) on November 30. The comedy legend has been vocal about how fatherhood transformed his perspective, stating in his new Netflix documentary: "My kids are the centre of everything. Before kids it's just about you, once you have kids it's all about them."

He proudly added about his children: "My children are all decent people. I don't have one rotten one, and I would like to think that they got some of that from me."

Eddie has consistently shown support for Bria's endeavours over the years, notably attending the debut of her art show, Subconscious, in Los Angeles in 2020. At the time, he gushed to reporters: "I'm glad that people get to see how talented she is. We've known for years how talented she is. I'm having all of those proud parent feelings."

As Bria and Michael prepare to welcome their new addition, the couple have made the decision to disable their social media accounts, choosing to focus on this special time privately. The Murphy family continues to grow, proving that for this Hollywood dynasty, family truly does come first.
