EastEnders Star Ronni Ancona Teases Bea's Explosive Exit

EastEnders star Ronni Ancona has broken her silence on the explosive exit of her character, the bunny-boiling baddie Bea Pollard. The actress appeared on This Morning to discuss the dramatic final showdown that will see Bea leave Walford with a bang.

Bea's Descent into Madness

Introduced at the start of the year, Bea initially seemed like a sweet but eccentric stranger, still nursing hurt over childhood teasing from Linda Carter. However, her behaviour quickly escalated into full-blown obsession. Bea manipulated her way into Honey Mitchell's home, took out a credit card in Honey's name, and racked up massive debt. When Honey's husband Billy pressured her to kick Bea out, the villainess reacted violently, trashing McClunky's and sabotaging Billy's ladder, which led to Honey being severely injured.

Bea's downfall began when she targeted Ian Beale, attempting to woo him with unhinged behaviour during his council campaign. Ian exposed her credit card fraud to the Mitchells, leading to her eviction. But Bea isn't finished yet. In a final act of revenge, she plans to convince Honey that Billy is having an affair using a fake AI recording of his voice.

The Final Showdown

Speaking on This Morning, Ancona teased the explosive conclusion. "This leads to a big showdown in the Vic and that's just for starters," she said. "And that kicks off a whole new level." The actress revealed that the producers wanted to bring dark humour and malevolence to the character. "They'd said to me, 'It'll be perfect for you, Ronni. It's a really annoying, deranged, disturbed character. It's perfect for you.' And I'm like, [flatly] 'Yayyy,'" she joked.

Ancona confirmed that Bea's arc was always planned, and she felt privileged to play the role. As the ballad of bunny-boiling Bea comes to an end, viewers will see whether she finally gets Honey or gets stung herself.
