Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has been seen teasing what viewers have to look forward to after a dramatic episode of the long-running show was confirmed.
The actress is best known for playing Maria Sutherland, now Maria Windass, in Corrie. She first arrived in Weatherfield as Maria in 2000, having beaten Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh and Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw to land the role.
Last year, she marked 25 years since she first stepped onto the famed cobbles of Weatherfield, the fictional town in Salford where 'Coronation Street' is set, and she told how she never imagined her job on the ITV soap would have lasted for a quarter of a century.
And she's still set to be part of the action as a dinner party will expose the ongoing 'whodunnit' around Theo Silverton's demise. It was announced that his murderer is set to be unmasked in a matter of days.
A dramatic new trailer has given viewers of the ITV soap a glimpse inside a dinner party with a difference, set to take place on the cobbles next week, when home truths are served and the tea is most definitely spilt.
Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain, months after it was teased that he could be one of five villains murdered in the dramatic storyline, on the night of Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain's wedding. In Monday's (June 22) episode of Corrie, a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found.
In response to a teaser shared on Instagram, Samia replied: "It's going off!!" She's also shared a photo promoting the upcoming scenes and wrote on her own Instagram page: "Next Monday 22nd.. The knives (and forks) are out @coronationstreet. Any guesses what's gonna be revealed at the #dinnerparty???"
It comes after new spoilers revealed that the episode will start with a flashforward that will give viewers a glimpse inside Sarah Platt and Kit Green's flat, where the remnants of a dinner party with broken glass, a chair upended, and blood splattered across the tablecloth are visible.
The episode will then take those watching back earlier in the day, where Kit reminds Sarah about their date night and suggests they go food shopping at lunchtime. But when Kit receives a text from Sarah cancelling their lunchtime trip, his son, Brody Michaelis, teases him that Sarah's had a better offer.
Maria Windass overhears, and her mind whirrs, having already shared her concerns that former couple Gary and Sarah are having an affair. As Sarah leaves the builders' yard, Kit watches her with suspicion. Once in the Rovers, Sarah invites Todd and Summer to join her and Kit for dinner, causing his heart to sink.
However, when he then spots her whispering to Gary, Kit suggests Gary and Maria might like to join him, Sarah, Todd, and Summer. Gary and Sarah freeze while Maria accepts his invitation.
The second part of the hour-long episode will then focus on the dinner itself, and as Todd, Summer, Gary, and Maria arrive for the dinner party, tensions are high as old animosities bubble under the surface. Maria aims some bitchy comments at Sarah, while Kit does his best to get Gary on his own, making pointed remarks about people's propensity to lie.
Once the dinner party is in full swing, Kit serves the main course, but as Maria raises a toast to the hosts, she announces that Gary and Sarah have been having an affair for weeks. As everyone reels in shock, secrets and lies are exposed in a shocking series of flashbacks. But how does the evening end with blood splattered across the table?
