Coronation Street spoilers: Cassie's deadly plan to eliminate Ross

Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) is desperate to rid her family of Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) in next week's Coronation Street, ramping up her efforts with potentially fatal results. Meanwhile, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) tries to claw her way back into the Platt family, and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) finds herself torn between two men.

Cassie's deadly plan

Cassie is overjoyed to hear from an ex of Ross', Alison, but he overhears the call. She summons Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Ross to the Rover's and introduces them to Alison, claiming that Ross stole money from her before threatening her. Later, when Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Cassie find Tyrone, Ross and Tracy celebrating Ross finding local employment and intending to stay, Cassie is sickened. Steve urges her to bide her time and wait for Ross to reveal his true colours.

When Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) tries to organise a birthday tea for Ross, Cassie struggles to contain her feelings. As the cake arrives and guests begin to sing, she reveals Ross paid her for sex at age 15. Cassie is incandescent when she realises Ross stayed at No.1 and things are well with him and Tracy, but listens intently when he discusses a mandatory drug test at his new job. When she sees him sharing smoothies with Amy later, she mixes some of Tyrone's pills into his drink before scarpering, unaware she has dropped the pill packet.

Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) is upset when David refuses to let him hold Harper, and Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) quizzes Jodie over a trinket box. Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) visits Sarah in prison, informing her of Jodie's actions.

David and Shona confront Jodie about the trinket box. In an effort to win Lily round, Jodie steps in when she sees her struggling to protect Harry from bullies in the precinct, which Lily relays to David.

Alya caught between Adam and Idris

Alya finds herself torn when Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) agrees to represent Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) in her case against Idris Nazir (Junade Khan). Idris offers to buy Alya's half of Speed Dahl before dropping a bombshell on her, then turns nasty with Adam. Alya reaffirms that she can't force Adam to drop Abi as a client, and Idris offers Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) some cash to go after Adam.
