Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) has confessed to the murder of Theo Silverton and is now preparing to frame her accomplice Gary Windass (Mikey North) with the help of her corrupt boyfriend, DS Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). The dramatic twist sees Sarah, who killed Theo in self-defence, manipulated into betraying the man who helped her dispose of the body.
Sarah's Confession and Kit's Proposal
In scenes airing this week, Sarah arrives home to find Kit has cooked a romantic lunch. As Kit reflects on their relationship, he gets down on one knee and proposes. Overcome with guilt, Sarah confesses to Theo's murder. Kit, determined to protect her, vows to keep her out of prison – even if it means framing Gary.
Kit later heads to the police station to study the evidence board. He warns Sarah that her freedom depends on Gary's silence and instructs her to get hold of Gary's phone to delete incriminating data. Secretly, Kit contacts the technician tasked with wiping Gary's phone and asks him to forward any relevant information to his personal email.
Gary's Helplessness
Gary, who smashed Theo's van with a sledgehammer on the day of the murder and later deleted CCTV footage, has remained the prime suspect. He begged Sarah to keep quiet, fearing imprisonment. Meanwhile, his marriage to Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is falling apart after Maria accused Sarah of cheating.
On the street, DC McLaughlin (Michelle Tate) tells DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) that they are ready to arrest Theo's murderer. It appears Sarah has given Gary a one-way ticket to a jail cell, courtesy of Kit's machinations.
What's Next?
Fans are left questioning whether Sarah will go through with framing Gary. Kit's proposal may still be on the table, but his corrupt actions could destroy multiple lives. With Gary's arrest imminent, the walls are closing in on Weatherfield's darkest secret.
