Coronation Street fans are convinced that villain Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) is not truly dead after spotting a crucial clue in Tuesday's episode (June 23). Viewers noticed what appears to be Theo's leg moving while Gary Windass (Mikey North) was hiding the crime scene, sparking theories that the character survived his fall from scaffolding.
Theo's Death and the Murder Mystery
Theo was killed off in April following the exposure of his campaign of terror against Todd (Gareth Pierce). The character had manipulated and tormented Todd for months, including force-feeding him, psychological abuse, confining him to the bedroom, and isolating him from family and friends. Neighbour Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) discovered his lifeless body, triggering a murder mystery involving multiple Weatherfield residents.
The initial suspect list included Todd, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). Police initially charged Summer after finding substantial evidence against her.
Sarah Revealed as the Killer
This week, a stunning revelation showed that Sarah Barlow (Tina O'Brien) was Theo's killer, despite never being on the original suspect list. A flashback revealed that Sarah, while searching for Todd, assaulted Theo with a metal pole on top of scaffolding. She struck him on the head, causing him to fall over the edge and onto the ground below.
After discovering Theo was dead, a frantic Sarah contacted Gary, who helped her conceal the crime. The pair have been harbouring the secret for weeks. In Tuesday's episode, Todd began suspecting Gary of the murder, not Sarah.
Fans Spot the Clue
However, viewers are now convinced Theo didn't actually die from the fall. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person wrote: "We all saw Theo's leg move, right?" Another added: "I don't think he's dead, it'll probably be his secret twin at this point." A third commented: "Yes, he moved his foot!"
The apparent movement has led to widespread speculation that Theo may still be alive, possibly setting up a future return. Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
