Coronation Street fans are fearing there's a 'problem' brewing for Summer Spellman following the trauma of her recent prison stint for a crime she didn't commit. As those who follow the ITV soap know, Summer was arrested and charged with the murder of Theo Silverton, as the evidence pointed towards her, and her alibi, Tyrone Dobbs, also lied to the police about what he saw, leaving the teen stuck behind bars.
At one point, a distressed Summer was seen revealing to Todd Grimshaw that she is considering pleading guilty to manslaughter as it seemed her only option, leaving her only father figure, following the deaths of both Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman, heartbroken. Eventually, Summer was released after Tyrone finally told the truth, and admitted to seeing Summer on the night, as well as the murder victim alive at the time she was leaving the flat she shared with his husband, Todd.
Summer's Drunken Appearance at Dinner Party
With Summer off the hook, DC Kit Green was determined to prove Gary was the one to see Theo off, with Corrie fans aware that he is hiding something alongside his former flame, Sarah Platt, who is now Kit's girlfriend. This led to a very awkward dinner party during Monday's (June 22) edition of Corrie, during which tensions reached boiling point, while flashback scenes revealed what exactly happened to Theo on the night of his death back in April - and how Sarah became responsible for his deadly demise.
But it seems some Corrie fans were distracted by Summer, who spoke about her time in prison during the dinner party, while also getting stuck into the wine on offer, making for a slightly drunken appearance among her neighbours. Viewers took to social media to express their concerns. @J_WBerry said: "Last night I was amused by Summer's drunk antics at the dinner party, but as she's still drinking today, and in the morning, I'm worried #Corrie are giving her a drink problem. Is this how she'll cope to 'make it all ok'?"
