Coronation Street's Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) ends up in hospital after being attacked by Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in Tuesday's episode. Dylan hits his head on the pavement after Lauren shoves him, and she runs off upon realizing how hurt he is.
Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) arrives shortly after and gets Dylan the help he needs. The attack follows a tense confrontation between Dylan and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) in the café, which Nina also witnesses.
Background of the Attack
Brody and Lauren had spent the morning with Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), who was struggling with her speech. After learning Dylan had visited her the previous day, Lauren vents to Brody that she wishes Dylan could see Betsy during her speech therapy sessions to understand what he'd done.
Betsy suffered a stroke after engaging in consensual strangulation with Dylan during sex. Though light, the pressure damaged her blood vessels, leading to the stroke.
Confrontation and Aftermath
Following Lauren's rant, Brody confronts Dylan in the café, attempting to provoke a fight, but Dylan storms out. However, he can't avoid Lauren, who warns him to stay away from Betsy and slaps him when he talks down to her. The situation escalates until Dylan hits the ground.
After waking up in hospital, Dylan is confirmed to have a concussion but will recover. Lauren later visits him, sheepishly begging him not to tell anyone what happened. Will Dylan stay quiet, or could Lauren face serious trouble?
