Channel 4 has released a first look at the second series of its hit cyber-thriller The Undeclared War, promising new threats and higher stakes. The six-episode series, which originally aired four years ago, centers on a team of GCHQ analysts covertly defending the UK from cyber-attacks during a general election campaign.
Returning Cast and New Additions
Simon Pegg reprises his role as Danny Patrick, GCHQ’s director of operations. Sian Brooke joins the cast as his wife Barbara, an analyst and former MI16 officer. The first-look footage shows a corrupted screen, with Danny warning: "This is a potentially nuclear piece of malware."
According to Channel 4, the new series escalates tensions as Danny reveals a mole within GCHQ, prompting a high-stakes investigation. The preview depicts characters under severe stress, trying to identify who is under attack. Another character notes that "serious allegations" are being made against a "respected colleague."

Madden added: "We're very excited to be collaborating again with our partners at Playground Entertainment, Universal International Studios, Stonehenge Films on this cutting-edge thriller."
