Channel 4 has released the first trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller Hunting Alice Bell, featuring Death in Paradise star Ralf Little among a stellar cast. The six-part series, created by David Baddiel with Peter Bradshaw, follows Fran Da Silva (Alex Roach), whose life unravels when she is accused online of being Alice Bell—a former nurse and accomplice to a notorious anaesthetist serial killer.
Plot and Premise
The synopsis reveals: "Fran Da Silva is accused of being Alice Bell, her happy family life implodes in a wave of mob hate. Then she discovers she’s not the only woman to suffer this fate. Fran and the other accused women band together to fight back and clear their names. But as they battle to prove their innocence, what if one of the group is lying - and is the real Alice Bell…?"
The series delves into how rumours spread and their devastating effects, focusing on misogyny, justice, and the psychosis of the mob.
Cast and First Look
Alongside Ralf Little as Graham Hunte, the cast includes Alex Roach, Sherlock's Amanda Abbington as Julie, Mobland's Emily Barber as Vanessa, Simon Pegg as Dr Jason Nash, Toni O'Rourke as Ros, Christina Bennington as Charlotte, and Rudi Dharmalingam as Nick. The first-look trailer shows a group of women in a circle, each saying: "I am not Alice Bell." One image depicts Fran holding a box of belongings and a passport with a scared expression, presumably trying to prove her identity. Another shows the women seated with cameras on them, looking displeased.
