Alex Jones: The One Show Off Air for World Cup

Alex Jones made a significant announcement regarding a scheduling change for The One Show during Tuesday evening's broadcast. The presenter informed viewers that the popular BBC programme would be "off air" on Wednesday, June 17, due to World Cup football coverage.

Scheduling Shake-Up for The One Show

During the latest instalment, Alex and co-host Roman Kemp welcomed a range of guests before revealing the schedule alteration. The magazine-format show typically airs Monday to Friday at 7pm on BBC One, but Wednesday's edition will be preempted by World Cup fixtures, including England versus Croatia and Portugal against DR Congo.

Alex confirmed that upon its return on Thursday, June 18, The One Show will be broadcast on BBC Two instead of its usual channel. Closing the programme, she said: "We are off air tomorrow for the World Cup, but we are back on Thursday on BBC Two, and we'll be joined by Enola Holmes star Himesh Patel, Tyler West and Molly Rainford." Roman added: "Have a great night. Come on, England!"

Tuesday's Episode Highlights

Tuesday's episode featured interviews with Hollywood actor Bill Pullman, Wham! vocalist Andrew Ridgeley, and talk show host Lorraine Kelly. Lorraine discussed her new book, The Island Secret, the sequel to her debut novel The Island Swimmer, which became a bestseller. Set on the Orkney Islands, the story continues the journey of protagonist Eve.

When asked about the absence of sex scenes in her second novel, Lorraine humorously attributed it to her mother: "That's why there's not sex in it, because my mother... I don't think anybody can't write about sex very well, we all know where it goes and what happens. We don't need to read about it thank you!"

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One, with the exception of the upcoming schedule change.
